The Automatic Coffee Maker – Today’s Fashionable Home Accessory

Coffee makers have been around, not surprisingly, almost as long as coffee. The original coffee brewer was the Turkish Ibrik, a copper container with a long handle and a grooved tongue. Still used in the Middle East, it produces a very strong brew since it does no filtering.
For those more interested in drinking a beverage than eating coffee grounds, a wide variety of automatic coffee makers are available from the plain to the esoteric. Here are a few things to look for…
The drip coffee machine is one of the most popular type of automatic coffee makers available today. Water is poured into the top of the machine, it then filters over the coffee grounds after beiing heated by an electric coil. The filtered coffee then collects in a glass pot that sits on a heating plate at the base of the machine.
But beyond these basics, there are a few features it’s useful to have.
The amount of options available on today’s coffee makers has developed so much that the coffee virtually brews itself! Display screens tell you the time the machine will start brewing, once brewing how long is left, temperature, etc.
The auto shut-off feature available with most modern automatic coffee makers is possibly one of the most useful features. Knowing that you can remove the coffee pot from the hot plate at any time to pour a cup of coffee and not have drips all over the hot plate is very reassuring.
Controlling every aspect of how your coffee is prepared is now very easy to do with the automatic coffee makers available today. Waking up to a freshly prepared pot of coffee, just how you like it is now a reality. All you have to do is set up the machine the night before and wake up to perfect coffee every morning.
Everyone loves the smell of coffee, and it is very comforting to come down into your kitchen on a dark, cold morning and smell the fresh brewing coffee as well as seeing the little illuminated display telling you your coffee is ready.
Cleaning your coffee machine can be a real pain. It is just another job to add to your ever growing list of things to do. But a new development within the coffee world, the coffee ‘pod’, has made coffee brewing and cleaning your coffee machine a lot easier. The coffee pod is a small, pre-measured paper container of coffee. You put the pod into your machine, the water filters through the coffee, the same as normal coffee machines, and your coffee is ready. However, once the pod has cooled you can take it out of the machine and throw it into the bin. That is it. The cleaning of your machine is complete. Perefect for the harassed coffee drinker who hates cleaning.
A water filter can prove to be a really useful addition to your coffee machine. If the water where you live is not that great then the water filter will only improve the quality of your coffee. Of course the water filter may increase the price of your coffee machine, but can you really put a price on the perfect cup of coffee?
The traditional coffee filter machines are still in demand but the development of the coffee pod machines have proved very popular. Debate rages as to whether they affect the quality of the coffee, but this will come down to your own personal choice. People also question the enviromental impact of the pods but again this is a decision only you can make.
Selecting your coffee machine may not be easy due to the huge choice available. With so many machines to choose from it may seem like an impossible choice. But when you finally select your new coffee machine you can be rest assured that you will be enjoying perfect coffee for a long time to come.
